Tornasole systems are primarily designed as umbrellas to maintain consistent shade throughout the day, providing an optimal relaxation experience. These are multifunctional photovoltaic systems with several patented innovations and a registered design. Two of the patented solutions include the constant-velocity joint, which allows for tilting, and the integrated photovoltaic strip that uses a simple and universal technology for creating custom photovoltaic panels.

The electronic control system is composed of H&S architecture modules, which include power optimization (MPPT), battery management (BMSS-BC), and system management (BMSM/EMSM), with specific functions tailored for the umbrella. The system allows for remote communication via Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth and includes a smartphone app that provides a remote user interface.

In addition to tilting, the umbrella offers several additional features, including nighttime lighting, charging of electronic devices such as iPhones and iPads, and remote opening and closing. It is also possible to integrate a beverage dispenser that keeps food at pleasant temperatures using the EVTP solid-state exchanger developed by FET.

Various versions of the Tornasole system are available, both with a tilting central pole and a swiveling side pole. The side pole version can be equipped with one, two, or three canopies, all featuring the Tornasole function.
