TECHNICAL FEATURES
Lithium batteries need to work in a pre-established temperature range otherwise they will have poor efficiency and probably reduced life. The patent obtained refers to an air-conditioned container capable of extending the working temperature of the internally contained battery both downwards with ambient temperatures below zero and with high temperatures up to 60°-65°. To achieve this, two measures were introduced: 1) a reversible hot/cold heat pump, 2) the shape of the container specifically designed to allow the air to circulate inside as uniformly as possible to ensure that all cells are always ventilated with air at a uniform temperature. These measures have made it possible to have a watertight container, highly protected and capable of working even under immersion or in highly dusty environments, guaranteeing a thermal delta between the inside and the outside of up to 35° both positive and negative. Furthermore, the gas contained internally (normally air) can be saturated with substances that limit the formation of humidity, corrosion or other harmful alterations to the lithium cells. The container thus defined can have various shapes and easily adapt to the available housing spaces. The applications envisaged for these containers are electric cars and traction systems in general, electrical energy storage and distribution systems and more generally all battery housings for the most varied applications.
